The Central Florida Brazilian American Chamber of Commerce board meeting was attended by Edward Beshara, CFBACC Board Director and trustee, and Andrea Almeida, CFBACC Treasurer, and the Brazilian Liaison at BESHARA PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION. The objective of the meeting was to plan for successful events in the US and Brazil for 2017.

Edward Beshara attended the OACFR (Orlando Area Committee on Foreign Relations) meeting on Monday, February 20, 2017. OACFR hosted Kim Ghattas, Emmy Award-winning Lebanese-born BBC journalist and New York Times best-selling author, who gave an insightful speech on “The New Administration: An Outsider’s Perspective and US Immigration.”

Edward Beshara and Sal Picataggio who are both adjunct professors of business immigration law at the University of Florida Immigration Law Association inpanel discussion on February 23, with over 50 students from UF Immigration Law Association. A broad range of topics was discussed including recent ICE raids, the implications of the executive orders on their immigration law practices, and their advice to students wishing to pursue a career in immigration law.

USCIS new forms and updated fees are in effect starting February 21, 2017
The US Citizenship and Immigration services will no longer accept older forms prior to the ones issued on 12/23/16 for visa application and will apply new fees. Check USCIS website.

USCIS announces revised procedures to determine visa availability

New Immigrants can create a USCIS online account
New Immigrants will now have the option to create a USCIS online account when they pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee. A USCIS online account will let them easily track the status of their Green Card, receive electronic notifications and case updates, and change and update their mailing address. Read more.
